Stop Waiting to Love Your Home

Stop Waiting to Love Your Home

I’ve got a client getting ready to sell their home in Castle Rock. They bought it about 8 years ago at a great price, knowing it needed some work. And like so many of us do, they moved in with a mental list of projects they’d tackle “eventually.”

There was a bubbling UV film on the windows that blocked their incredible mountain views. A few bathrooms were painted colors so bold and wild they just shut the doors and ignored them. And there were intentional holes in the ceiling from when they installed a new AC system—holes they always meant to patch.

But life happened. Things got busy. The list stayed a list.

Now, as they prep the home for sale, we’re getting all those things fixed. And the first thing my client texted me was:
“I just wish we did this a long time ago so we could enjoy it when we were there 🫣 but we didn’t know who to call 🫠”

Oof. That one hit. Because it’s so common.
They had this peaceful lot that backs to open space. Stunning views. No neighbors in sight. And they never truly enjoyed it because of a bit of bubbled window film.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

So here’s your sign: If there’s something in your home you’ve been putting off—a paint color that bugs you, a leaky faucet, an unfinished project—do it now. Not for resale. Not for someday. For you!

And if you don’t know who to call? I do. I’ve got an amazing list of local pros. Window specialists, painters, plumbers, drywall magicians—you name it. And if I don’t have the right person, I’ll help you find them. That’s part of what I love about this job.

Your home should be a place you enjoy now, not just right before you hand over the keys.
